Photoelectrocatalysis

Publishes original research articles, letters, case reports, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to photoelectrocatalysis. 

Current Indian Science: Photoelectrocatalysis publishes original research articles, letters, case reports, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to photocatalytic reaction.  This is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is instead devoted to a wide range of sub fields in the area. Articles of multi-disciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Submissions in the following areas are of special interest to the readers of this journal:

Photocatalysis phenomenon is based on the redox reactions take place at the surface of catalytic materials using light. Photocatalysis appears as an interesting approach for different applications, with the possibility of using sunlight as a sustainable and renewable source of energy. Chiefly, it is a green root for the mineralization of organic compound present in the environment. Also, it includes the study related to catalytic function to fundamental chemical processes occurs at the surface catalytic materials and in metal complexes, and novel concepts in surface chemistry and applications of catalysts and catalytic processes.

Dr. Yuvaraj M. Hunge works at Tokyo University of Science, Japan. His fields of expertise include Photoelectrocatalysis, sonochemistry, heterogeneous catalyst synthesis and characterization, photocatalytic hydrogen production, and photocatalysis. He received a prestigious National postdoctoral fellowship from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi, Government of India. Also, he is a recipient of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Postdoctoral fellowship (SPPU-PDF), from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Also, he is an editorial board member and reviewer of many international journals.

Prof Sahab Dass joined DEI in the year 1986 as Assistant Professor where he is currently serving as Head of the Department of Chemistry. He is actively involved in the research pertaining to Solar Water Splitting for Hydrogen Generation for the past 20 years and his group has produced more than 40 PhD’s in this area. Prof. Dass has an h-index of 35 and has co-authored more than 120 publications in scientific journals of repute. He was recently granted two patents by the Government of India for twenty years on the development of materials for PEC water Splitting for Hydrogen Generation. He has completed two international projects funded through DST-NSF and Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative with University of Maryland and Arizona State University, respectively. Prof Dass was honoured with the visiting Professorship in the NANOCAT, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur for three years from 2013-2016. Prof. Dass was appointed Member of the Editorial Board of General Chemistry journal in 2019 and Bronto Library of Energy Science & Technology in 2020. He has successfully completed six federally funded research projects with a financial outlay of Rs 4.34 crores, while one worth Rs 3.49 crores is ongoing.
