Abstract

High-risk periodontal patients respond susceptible to inflammation with the risk-determining factors occurring on a molecular level that cannot be altered. Successful therapy of periodontal risk patients requires medical assessment of clinical, microbial and immunological laboratory parameters including regular maintenance. High-risk patients are incorporated into a comprehensive medical and dental treatment plan with focus on preventive planning. If you need informations about treatment solutions for patients at medical or periodontal risk, if you want to advise your patients more comprehensively or simply want to refer your patients with more expertise and knowledge, then read on.
